Happystorm Theatre is a Social Enterprise founded by Matthew Ganley and Susi Wrenshaw in Salford, January 2010.
We incorporated as a Community Interest Company in December 2010 and are members of Together Works, the Social Enterprise Network for Greater Manchester and PANDA, the Performing Arts Network and Development Agency.
We have offices and rehearsal space in Central Manchester but are based in Ordsall, Salford. We are members of the Ordsall and Langworthy Community Forum.
Happystorm produces new plays which are inspired by and relevant to the Salford community. All productions are research-based drawing on the experiences of local people to produce provocative, exciting theatre. In conjunction with our plays we always strive to run workshops for Salford residents.

TRAINING
Matt studied at the University of Salford where he received a BA (Hons) in Performing Arts and went on to train as an actor at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.
ACTING
Acting credits include: Theatre - The Blonde Bombshells of 1943 (No.1 National Tour), The Play That Killed Me, God Wept And The Devil Laughed, The Lonely Clouds of Guernica (all for Come As You Arts North West/The Lowry Studio), Cinderella and Snow White (Preston Guild Hall and Charter Theatre), Macbeth and Much Ado About Nothing (Manchester Actors Company), The Laramie Project (Hope Theatre / Tectonic Theatre).
TV includes Waterloo Rd (BBC1), Bradford Riots (Channel 4), Hollyoaks (Channel 4) and Shameless (Channel 4).
DIRECTING
Matthew directed Be Rain For Me for Happystorm. He also directed Smoking Kills for Breathe Out Theatre at Studio Salford and has been involved in the development of Be Rain For Me.
MUSIC
Matthew is a professional musician who has most recently composed and recorded music for Dark Smile Productions' radio drama 'Dreaming Of Foxes' based on the life story of Ted Hughes. As a solo artist he recorded 'Carve A Key' which became the soundtrack for Be Rain For Me.

TRAINING
Susi trained as an actor at Manchester Metropolitan School of Theatre and with Piesn Kozla in Poland. Susi achieved a Gold Medal in LAMDA Acting exams - grade 8 - passing with Honours. Further training includes Biomechanics, Physical Theatre, Clowning and Voice-Overs.
Susi holds a National Certificate in Mentoring Young People (Level 2).

TV: Emmerdale (ITV), Coronation St (ITV), The Bill (ITV), Tarrant Lets The Kids Loose (Watch TV) and Crimewatch (BBC).
DIRECTING
Directing credits include: Short Sharp Shocks (Breathe Out Theatre) and More (Capitol Theatre).
WRITING
Susi wrote Happystorm's debut play, Be Rain For Me, read reviews here. Other plays include Vanishing Acts, Gin and Tonic and The Lord's Minstrels. She has been an active member of Contact Theatre's Scriptworks and the Royal Exchange Theatre's writing group.
