Our work comes out of exploring the common issues that affect people in our local and wider communities.
 
One important aspect of this is the vast area of mental health which, like physical health, can change over time depending on our experiences.
Anyone can go through difficulties, trauma or mental distress. These are things that cross all boundaries: culture, gender, age, sexuality and social or economic background.
 
Our most recent production The Crypt Project explores the experience of living with addiction.
 
Addiction can be linked to mental distress and can begin as a way to cope with difficulties and painful experiences. Having an addiction problem can be isolating and it can feel frightening to think about changing or to consider getting help and support. Addictions are often kept hidden from others and it can be hard to imagine telling someone. It is often a fear of being judged that makes it difficult to say what is really going on in our lives.

Happystorm hopes to keep the conversations going to reduce the stigma surrounding these issues.
