The Crypt Project has beaten stiff competition to be shortlisted for a Manchester Tourism Award for the best Small Tourism Event of the year (2011).
Previous winners of the coveted award include Stockport's Hat Works and Ordsall Hall.
Joint Artistic Directors Matt and Susi have been flirting with TV... While planning the next leg of The Myth of Escape tour and directing/producing Richard III they both got roles in 2 of the nation's favourite TV series.
Matt will be appearing as a counsellor in Waterloo Road next season while Susi can be seen as Jean Robinson in Emmerdale mid-October.
Another 5,000 flyers are on their way round the country in eager anticipation of the second leg of our tour.
Additional funding after the success of an initial run at Studio Salford, Hyde and Preston means that The Myth of Escape will now be on tour until mid-October!
New venues are The Lantern Theatre in Liverpool on 7th October, then Buxton Opera House 14th and 15th October.
Lodestar Theatre came to see our production of Be Rain For Me in January and gave us some wonderful comments. In July they sent us an invitation we could not refuse.
We are one of 25 theatre companies to be invited to take part in the finale of The Liverpool Shakespeare Festival where each company will be given a scene from the play at random. After rehearsing in secret the companies will come together to perform the scenes in sequence.
The rules: the scene must be a maximum of 5 minutes, have up to 3 actors and use a budget of £10.

A wonderful term for us and what a pleasure tutoring some very talented young people. We are very proud of the results as they have all worked extremely hard without exception. Now they can relax and enjoy their summer holidays to come back revitalised in September.
We will have some medal entries next term and some adult learners as LAMDA exams are suitable for all ages.
After a wave of positive reviews, The Myth of Escape prepares to hit the road. The critically-acclaimed play will be on tour from July until October 2011.

We were joined by a group of people who have encountered the probation service in some way. They engaged in creating characters, writing storylines, acting out each other's stories and drawing maps of their lives.

Susi spoke to a group of young people at the Waters Edge Arts Centre in Chorlton at an event to help young creatives think about their futures. Also speaking were Hurcules Productions, the Arts Council England, PANDA and Waters Edge.
Susi covered the highs and lows of setting up a business, creative versus business tasks, managing people and opportunities for creative people.
Awards For All will be supporting The Myth of Escape. In conjunction with the play we will be running workshops with ex-offenders in Greater Manchester. We will also be making a documentary of the journey.
Our next play, The Myth of Escape, will be funded by Arts Council England. The co-production with Breathe Out Theatre will premiere at Studio Salford in July 2011 and go on tour until October 2011.
