"Happystorm have produced some of the
finest and most ambitious
plays to come out of Salford in recent memory."

"Happystorm are becoming something of a brand where you don't need to know the details.
You just turn up expecting something off the wall and different.
They set up strange
scenarios and immerse you right in there."

With new management taking over at Aspire this week it was quite an honour to be invited in to run a workshop for their first week of activities! Clients from the old 'Aspire' and Thomas House got stuck into the games, wrote a very creative story featuring a guniea pig called Henry The Fifth and spoke incredibly openly about their highs and lows. A really moving and inspiring day.
We were given a very warm welcome and bowls of enthusiasm from the residents.
Participants created characters and storylines worthy of a place on Coronation Street and even performed their very own TV scenes!
We were so grateful to the group for sharing their own life stories with us so openly. They even let us keep their life maps to use in rehearsals!
Susi and Matt went to Aspire Drug and Alcohol recovery centre to meet some of the service users and talk to them about the upcoming workshops they will be offering in conjunction with The Crypt Project.
The centre is already a hub of creative talent with the regular groups that take place there. The Art group is soon to be established as a Social Enterprise! When you look at the artwork created by the group (displayed on this page) it's not hard to see why!
The artists were kind enough to let us photograph their work and display it on our website. Some of them even agreed to us taking a pic of them too! (see above, B&W)
The service users will be taking part in workshops with us and coming along to rehearsals to give their input.
